DRIVING THE FUTURE CHARITABLE FUND

In keeping with the agency’s community-minded spirit, Martha's Vineyard Community Services (MVCS) has committed to donating 20% of annual net proceeds to other Island non-profits that benefit youth and seniors through the Martha’s Vineyard Community Services Driving the Future Charitable Fund, a collaborative effort between MVCS and the Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard. Grants from this fund are used to support education and health and human services for youth and seniors on Martha’s Vineyard.

Congratulations to the 2018 Permanent Endowment Driving the Future Charitable Fund grant recipients!

  • Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Cape and the Islands (BBBSCI) to support their promotional efforts on Martha's Vineyard to recruit and enroll volunteer mentors and to enroll and identify children in need of mentors. The mission of BBBSCI is to partner with under-resourced families to provide their children with transformational, one-to-one professionally-supported relationships with caring adult mentors, so that their children will thrive.
  • Island Elderly Housing (IEH) to continue their Transportation Program (aka "The Blueberry Van") for the residents of Island Elderly Housing. The mission of IEH is to provide affordable rental housing and related services designed to meet the needs of the Martha's Vineyard elderly and disabled population.
